My wife and I each own Bike E's. I'm thinking about trying to link them together into a four wheel pedal car. Has anybody ever done this? If so, are there any pictures?

It would be easy to link the two bikes together, but a few things would need to be carefully considered. First, without suspension, the linkage tying the bikes together would need to be partially flexible in a torsional manner. This would be required because on uneven terrain, where the possibility of not all wheel making contact with the ground, would otherwise apply torsional loading to the frames of the bike. It may work if it were solidly fixed, as most weight is over the back wheels, and one of the front wheels would likely lift off the ground. Planning a semi-flexible connection system would be quite a task. Second thing: steering cross linkage. Careful planning of the steering horns would be required, since, when turning, the inside wheel is always turned more sharply than the outside wheel, and that ratio difference increases as the turn tightens. This offset arrangement can be achieved by having the steering horns (which would be connected by a tie rod) to face forward of the pivot point, and angled inwards at each other. How much angle and how long the arms need to be is the tricky part.
