Hello forums You don't know me, and I make a rule never to post "for sale!" posts in forums where no one has reason to trust an unknown! But, BikeE E2 tandems are getting hard enough to find that I thought someone local (Seattle) might be excited to find one. If you're local, you can meet me, test ride the bike, deal in cash, and not worry that I'm a big ole scam artist
If that's you, here's my current CL ad: seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/1997900796.html
And here's a "not for E2 newbies" amended text, since you guys already know what this bike is:
This E2 was modified and upgraded by the previous owner with a drive train, wheels & stem way better than the original spec (details below) as well as a major modification to the beam. Here's the scoop:
The aluminum beam has been modified to make the front end of the bike much less squirrely. About 5 inches has been taken out of the beam between the front crank and the front handle bars, placing the captain's seat 5 inches back from the front wheel, getting the weight of the captain off of the front wheel, greatly increasing the straight tracking of the front end. (this was such an obvious solution, I'm surprised BikeE didn't come up with it on their own) The work was done by a professional welder, so no need to worry about the integrity of the weld. Because of the modifications, this bike will fit captains up to about 6 feet (depending on leg length proportions) and stokers up to about 5'5''(ditto). The improved stability ads greatly to the comfort of the bike, allows very low gearing without constant compensating and gives the captain a break from hitting every bump right through the seat.
We've loved this bike dearly, but we just can't use it in our current location & lifestyle. Someone who can enjoy it should have it, because it's a delight to ride. Please feel free to email me with questions at eckaterin@gmail.com - and thanks so much for keeping the BikeE love going. They're awesome bikes
The components:
the wheels have been custom built to a much higher standard (brand new rebuild)
