I have a standard BikeE from 1999. I rode it this winter forgetting one major force that is ever enduring in the streets of South Bend, IN...salt on the roads. My chain and all the other parts are rusty (and the wife ran over the front tire). I like to ride it to work (3 miles each way) and the occasional longer ride as well. I have never replaced parts on the bike. Assuming the gears, cogs and whatnot cannot be replaced, what parts are on the market that I may use to replace the old ones on the BikeE?

I'm sure you do not need to be told but I do hope you have been regularly lubricating the chain. A good wet lube should be used after every wet ride. As you say salt is severe on the chain. Other parts need dried off. Regular maintenance is required to avoid rust building up. So after saying all that, what parts are you looking for? Regards, Robin.
