Wow, I'm so glad for this forum. I've already learned a lot, thanks! Just bought my Bike E AT XL off Craig's list.
My Bike E is the XL of the AT model. I weighed it with my bathroom scale because it felt kinda heavy compared to my soon to be sold MTB. It seems to be coming in a little under 40 pounds. I thought I had seen in the specs that Bike Es can weigh closer to 30, but perhaps that was for the rigid frame, standard size frames?
Also the other threads about Bike Es made in the latter days by Giant got me wondering if maybe mine was made by Giant? My serial number is A 9802. Can I learn anything from the serial number about where and when it was made?
Got caught behind a hail storm yesterday out on our bike trail. I was so impressed how well I was able to push through at least an inch deep of marble size hail. Never felt like the bike wanted to trade places with me- very pleased. So glad to not be hunched over my bike anymore!!
But tonight I got my first taste of recumbent persecution!! I didn't notice anybody staring at me but as I passed a car stopped at an intersection I heard a guy yell, "queer" after I passed and couldn't see who it was...wow. Are some people so easily threatened?? You'd think I'd insulted his grandma or something! Thanks in advance if anyone cares to comment on any of my ramblings, especially the technical stuff.

I bouht a CT model earlier this year. I ride in rural Iowa and so far all comments have been good. Most want to know what it is and how comfortable it is. He was probably jealous he does not have one.
