Hi Bob, firstly to declare that I don't own an E2 (wish I did!) and that I ride a CT - no shock: BUT I do surf the 'net regularly for articles on BikeE: The best my archives are coming up with is advice to try a shock pressure of rider weight plus 10 percent. You should be able to adjust up or down either side of that to get your 'perfect' ride. (I got that from sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/BikeE/message/961 quote: >>The shock pressure should be your weight plus ten percent to start. You can adjust from there for a firmer or softer ride at your discretion. You'll need a special high pressure pump you can get at most any bike shop<< ) I seem to recall other writers saying that a standard shock pump should be fine. The year 2000 BikeE brochure, under 'Accessories', quotes: "Air Shock Pump - BikeE 300psi pump for adusting air suspension on BikeE suspension models". Same brochure gives your shock as the Cane Creek AD-5 model. Searching the posts here I've found (under topic "Rear suspension") : >>My AT didn't come with the air pump, but the one off my '96 Kona works just fine. I would bet just about any shock pump would work. I am using a Fox HP Pump which is good for 275 Lbs of pressure. << Hope all this helps you get the 'bent' grin! Brian

I have found the stoker's weight plus 10% is a good start. You may find it on the low side, but it gets you in the ballpark.
