Hello.
Two years ago I bought the replacement sliders to make the repair but never did.
Could somebody please tell me how to replace the sliders?
Also: are there any other known problems with BikeE seats? (I seem to recall that welds can crack.)
Thanks for your time and your help.

I didn't hear anything about the welds cracking, so I'm watching this thread for a response to that....

The welds referred to are where the seat struts attach to the seat base. Unless you really push hard, they shouldn't break. I added a bunch of JB-Weld to mine just in case. Never had a problem... yet.
Seat sliders are easy to replace, but the process is hard to describe in words. Finding the replacement slidwers may be harder still. Again, ride gently and you shouldnt have a problem.

The BikeE with the silver frame seat uses sliders, the black frame does not. Those slides on the black frame seat are integral with the seat bracket. The front slider bracket slides DO, however, tend to warp over time and hold less securely. The front bracket can be reinforced by adding two large washers to each side under the skewer & camlock lever nuts. 1ea-5/8" std washer[?] and 1ea. 1/4" fender washer on each side straightened mine up over a very short period.
I believe the silver frame seat is also the one subject to frame breakage. Check the Bicycleman website...they have the recall info on the BikeE.

The seat slider replacement is easy, hopefully, I'll attached an instructional PDF Also go to the hardware store or even WalMart and purchase 4 - 1" key rings Slip them over the replacement parts - this was the BikeE fix to prevent broken parts from falling off while riding, if they cracked Attachments:

Anyone know where I can get a seat for a Bike E? I have a frame without a seat frame or backing. Thanks John

Try ebay.com, I saw a pair of Bike E touring handlebars on there the other day.
