Can anyone suggest where to get a replacement 16" x 1.75" rim with 16 spokes, to rebuild my front wheel?
Details: I live in California, and I'm willing to order a part and have it shipped.
I'm trying to get my BikeE going again now that I have a commute within biking range. Some time ago I broke a spoke or two on the front wheel. I replaced the spokes and did what I could to straighten things up, but it never was quite right again. The rim is badly worn, anyway, so I think it's time for a new rim, but I'm open to better ideas (such as replacing the whole wheel, if that somehow makes more sense). So far as I can tell, the hub, bearings, and quick-release are still doing just fine.
A local bike shop can cut spokes and do the build for me. I'm not quite brave enough to want to learn wheel building on a little wheel like this. They can't find the part, though, and I'm not doing much better. Somebody else (BMX, folding bikes, jogging strollers, trailers) must use 16" wheels, right?
Something mid-range would be ideal, somewhere between tinfoil department store kiddie bike and a high end part that would cost more than another used commute-worthy bike. That said, I'm open to not-quite-ideal if that's what's out there.
Thanks for any help/suggestions you can offer.

For what it's worth, the Sun EZ-1 CLWB Recumbent uses a 16x1.25 front [acc. to their website]. My CT has an OEM tire [believe it or not! ] that is a 16x1.5 but the tube is a 16x1.75 [Replaced from Wal-Mart!]. Use what you can find I guess! Check your LBS too!

I live in Az but deal with Mike at EasyStreet Recumbents in Austin (512 453 0438). Just got a custom front wheel for my CT and I know he has replacement wheels in stock and should be able to provide you with a rim. Good guy and a good shop.
