Hi, all!
My wife and I have BikeE ATs. But my wife's has a problem, the solution to which I suspect will require welding. See www.2lsand2ts.com/bikee.html.
The Problem. Somewhere in my wife's BikeE's distant past, before we bought the bike, someone cut the lip off the bottom bracket and now the kickstand no longer stays in place...making the kickstand useless.
What is the material used in the downtube and the bottom bracket (that's tapped to receive the kickstand bolt)? I want my welder (should welding be an option here) to be fully informed so he can approach the welding with full knowledge of the materials and techniques involved.
