The stress points of the BikeE design are the seat backrest and the side stays that leads to the rear wheels. The torque from the chain pulling on the rear axle causes the stay to twist and over time will cause stress fracture. I have cracked mine and got my welder to weld the crack and weld a support all the way around the two stays. I must say that it is now even stronger than before.

This seems like a major design flaw !

it could also be that the bikes in question are later model ones that were made in asia that lead to the company's collapse.
i think my own CT is a late model. i noticed the frame pings on me on that ride while i don't remember that happening when i test rode an original.

I just bought an AT that had a crack in the rear swing arm cross brace where the shock stubs are brazed to the cross brace. I'm guessing the owner rode it with a failed shock that bottomed out subjecting the cross piece to very high forces on bumps. The cross piece cracked and tore open. I'm looking for a replacement swing arm. If you have one for sale, please let me know. Thanks, Tom
