Hi All, Yesterday I picked up a used AT in great shape for $175. I am trying to get it adjusted to my height. I guess I really don't know how much bend should be in your legs on this bike. I am leaving some bend in my knee when at full extension on the crank but it still looks like I will just slightly clear the handlebar, but I have the upper stem all the way adjusted out to it's max. I am only 5'10' so this doesn't make sense to me. I guess I need to slide the seat farther back but then my leg will be fully extended straight at full crank. I did see a S sticker on the bike, they didn"t make a small frame right, just a regualr model and a extra long model right. Such a cool bike I hope I didn't get some wacky extra small model.

I just had to get my xseam seat position straight and I am good to go. I can't feel a difference when I shift between the the internal hub gears, wither I am shifting at the wrong time or I may need to take it to a shop for an adjustment. The short ride told me I really need to work on my recumbent muscles. So far I don't like the Bike E as much as I loved my old Cycle Genius CGX, I hope that changes. I sold the CGX because the high crank pinched a nerve in my right leg, but otherwise I loved it.

Sorry so late getting back to you. I bought my bike E a couple years ago and through some self diagnose have figured out what works. Put the left shifter in 2nd. On the rear axle there is a plastic housing with yellow marks on it. The yellow tab inside the housing should be between the two yellow lines when in 2nd. If it is set properly and still not changing look under the housing to make sure the rod that goes into the axle is moving when you shift it. There is a lever inside the plastic housing that moves the rod in a out to shift the internal hub. Hope this makes sense. My frame also has the S on it. I have the seat set so my knees are close to straight when out front. Hope this was helpful.

Hi, I too am sorry for the really late reply! I've sent 3 attachments as replies to your 'technical issues' question - Have a look over there at the DualDrive manual - it's from 2002 so the pictures might not match your bike - but as lazyike says, you'll likely figure out the gear system. The BikeE manual should help with the riding position. Yes, recumbents do use different muscles! Hope you've got round to enjoying your Bikee! Brian

i just use the same rule that you use for regular uprights... your knee should only be slightly bent at full extension.
it's true that bents use different muscles. once i FINALLY got my EZ1 last month and then my AT just last week, i finally started riding again and even doing hill climbing. instead of my calves beefing back up like salmon, i noticed one bit of tendon an inch thick or so cutting over then "old school" muscles. it also took a couple weeks to get up to a decent cruising speed without getting exhausted
