Hi , new to the board , I have a older non suspension bike e , got it as a bare frame and got it to a ride-able state with a little improvisation. It works quite well but having a problem with the bearing pre load on the headset loosening up . I have no idea what the original setup looked like on the bike e . I've already put reducers on the headset and running 1 1/8th bearings , the fork extends less than an inch above the frame and am using a 1 inch length of steel as a steering mast . It slips tightly into the fork tube and am using a clamp to try and hold things together as well as keep a pre load on the bearings . I know its crude but it actually doesn't look that bad . Not knowing what the original design was I've been kinda winging it . Anyone have a pic of the stock setup or any ideas on how to make this setup work . I've had it out for a ride several times and its a very cool ride , I'm running a 24' , 20" wheel setup .
