Has anyone tried a Rohlff hub on a BikeE? Is it even possible? It would seem like a good reliable way to have some gears without all the fuss of deraileur adjustment etc. I wonder about the bearings in my rear hub as they have not seen any attention in 6 years If I had to replace the hub I thought I might look at the Rohlffs.

Philip,
The Rolhoff requires an eccentric bottom bracket to adjust the chain tension. It costs £650 to buy in England so is not cheap. I don't think it's the most economical way to go. Is the hub making any strange sounds. I mean stranger than what is usual ;D
Regards,
Robin.

Can an eccentric bottom bracket be fitted to the BikeE? It's a standard bottom bracket size so there shouldn't be any problems. My hub is not making any strange noises, other than the usual noises but I just thought it would be neat to have the Rolhoff hub down the road when my hub does indeed wear out. I have read they have never had a mechanical failure. That's pretty impressive. -Philip
