Add me to the list of parents! Just acquired a 2002? CT. Got it built today (it was disassembled for shipping to me in Northern Ireland), not perfectly set up yet but I've already got the 'bent grin!! These pages have been very useful in my search for a Bike E - and have given me lots of knowledge about their features. Thanks to all for contributions & Robin for managing the pages. Happy Bike E grins! Brian

Bought a CT earlier this summer and an E2 a couple of months ago. Love both of them. In process of selling off all our other bikes.

Another one joining the ranks. After giving up on uprights years ago, (hands would fall asleep within minutes) I found a 2002 CT a couple weeks ago on craigslist for a good price. Came with the post-recall sweet seat and the hard-to-find ToolE compartment. Took a couple days for the legs to adjust, but I'm rapidly gaining back my leg power. I got to say, this beats riding uprights hands down. It really is Comfort Technology.
Actually, this isn't my first time on a BikeE. Eleven or twelve years ago, I did briefly get to try one (no idea what model) when I took a trip to EAA's Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, FL, where there was an individual riding one. I asked some questions, (just as others do to me now!!) and he let me try his. I was surprised at the ease to adapt to the new riding position. I made a mental note that I needed to get one of them. Well it took a while, but it happened!
Happy to once again be biking, and finally doing it in comfort.

Hi, I am new to the list, but not to Bike E. I am the proud owner of a standard-length 1999 NX, Bike E's attempt to prove they were as fast and nimble as a road bike. I opted for the swooping motorcycle style handlebars, upgraded the SRAM rear-cluster to a nine-speed (with a ridiculously low granny gear) and added a rear bag and kick-stand. The Mount-tech kick-button shifter on the front still works, as do the Hayes disc brakes, but the Primo tires have rotted out. Because there are no tires made that fit my rims, I am going to have new rims restrung on the original hubs, which will enable me to buy some tires with a better contact patch -- I have had some nasty slips sideways on the originals. I am otherwise looking forward to getting my steed back on the road. Years ago, I outfitted the NX with Time ATAC clipless pedals. These were ok, but in the recumbent position, it can be hard to clip out. I am going to change to Shimano 105 road pedals. I am committed to clipless on the Bike E: when I first bought it, I also purchased a trainer for it. That convinced me to go clipless to maintain cadence. Bike E made its own cycle computer, a pretty basic one that I have never checked for accuracy, but it looks pretty good on the bars. The only thing I discarded was the plastic sleeve they were advocating as a chain-guard. I found it noisy and would rather acquire an occasional grease streak. Does anyone else have an NX? Frank

I have a bike E FX XL. I sat on it and was sold. Just getting used to balancing on it since the position is so different, but I think it is going to be a long-term relationship. And, if anyone can answer the question I posted regarding a simple-to-use bike rack I can use to transport it on my Jetta, I would be ever to grateful.

Hello: I still check in every once in a while. I am in the process of rebuilding the wheels on my 1998 NX to accept a wider variety of tires. The 20" is done; the 16" has to wait until Velocity Rims does a new batch! I am threatening to take this baby on the Iowa/Illinois Tour of the Mississippi (TOMRV) in June, a trip with a total of 6,000 feet of climbing in two days and 200 miles, but we'll see....... Frank

I just got an AT this week. Had to clean it up and weld the seat but now it looks almost new! Having a great time riding it for the first time today. Should have gotten one years ago.

I just bought a Ct from my dad. He bought it new and did not ride it much. Anyone know how I tell what year it is. Pops cant remembr when he bought it. The weather is cold and 40mph winds today so, have not had the chance to try it. Already grinning though.

Just bought my first bent bike- a Bike E AT XL off Craigslist. Got it with the upgraded seat, rear BikeE bag, BikeE computer (but no mount or wiring?), shock pump, and trainer. I'm loving it so far. Thanks for this website!!

I just bought a Bikee and am loving it though I have not done a lot of miles on it. I previously bought a counterpoint presto frame and tried to build it up but was frustrated by some of the tech issues I ran into. I guess I'm the exception in that I own a more polished, in some people's eyes, recumbent and ride a BikeE.

I have a red CT and am enjoying it very much. Just went to recumbent because of health and am suprised at how much fun they are. Was going to buy a different bike but I am oddly happy with my CT. Does anyone use theirs for any serious distance?
