Own an NX--had to look for a long time to find it, and am likely to keep it forever, or until it falls apart!

What do you say is serious distance? I do 125 to 175 miles a week. ;DBut I have a friend that works at the local recumbent shop in Portland and I would bet he puts 1,000 miles or more a month on his Bike E. Like most of his kind he is car free. (Does not own a car.) With owning 20 or more bikes the Bike E AT is his favorite bike. Does anyone use theirs for any serious distance? Ciao, Tim O^o

I've had a BikeE AT for several years now, I long lost the invoice, I think I got it in 2002 and I got a lot of use out of it for the following years. It had a non-updated seat back but luckily I found that weakness whilst getting a little crazy with it off the beaten path before the company went belly up, so I got a replacement with the crushed seat reinforcement end welded all around.
Last year, I got a great deal on an original front fairing, made a cree xr-e P4 led headlight for it out of an old halogen unit and some small red led's attached to the top of the seat posts to improve night time visibility powered by a small lithium battery velcro'd to the frame. It sat for a while in a shed that took in some water and it has some rust and oxidization spots but after a quick tune up it works like new.
I took it for a quick 35Km ride today and I have to say, considering there's nothing out there that I know of that would truly replace it and the fact that it's discontinued I fear I have no choice but to keep it. (I initially took it out to clean, tune it because I was considering selling it)
Maybe electrify it to greatly improve my range and hill climbing capabilities.
I never thought to look for a forum of the bikee, maybe because it's discontinued... Glad I found this place!

I have 2 bikeE's, a CT that I bought a short time ago for $150 and an AT extended frame that I bought yesterday for $200. The AT is in excellent condition and has the original Sweet Seat II, kick stand, bell, mirror, and original like new bikeE bag. The front tire is a Primo comet and the back is a Tioga Comp Pool >>>>Update 6/13/2010, sold the CT for $225 so I am into the AT for $125....Not bad ;-) Now to find the elusive RX or NX Attachments:

I just bought a Bike E and was glad to find this forum. I've been having lots of fun on the bike, but my glutes are killing me! I thought I already had strong butt muscles from being a good climber on upright bikes, but I had another thing coming.....This past weekend I put in 25 miles on Saturday, then 35 on Sunday. Ouch! And all I ever heard before buying this thing was how all my rear end pain would be relieved. This must be the dirty secret of all recumbent riders out there. I am looking forward to the dancer's butt I should have after 1000 miles. Attachments:

I've had my Bike E for about 7 or 8 years. I bought it when I walked into my LBS and they had it brand new for 399$. They said the company was out of business. I took it for a ride and went home to sleep on it. Needless to say, I ran back to the shop and bought it and have been enjoying it since. I found this website because I wanted to see if people were still riding theirs and it looks like they are. I now know that mine is a CT standard. I still ride it a couple times a week. ;D

I just bought an AT? off eBay rode it for the first time this morn. It is going to take some time to getting the hang of it. It's my first ride on a bent. Looking forward to mastering the art. How do I find out it's pedigree (model, yr, & ect)? Thanks, jonah
